Padel court steel structure and artificial grass installation
Complete steel structure of a padel court, fabricated in the workshop and erected on site, followed by the artificial grass surface. Steel and playing surface under one contract.
A padel court is a steel cage that has to be perfectly square for the glass panels and mesh to fit without play, on a base that has to be flat for the grass to last. The client awarded both packages to Maureo, which removed the usual friction between a structural contractor and a surfacing contractor.
We fabricated the columns and rails in the workshop, complete with base plates and the fixings for the panels, then erected the structure on site, checking alignment and diagonals before final tightening. Fixings and finish were selected for permanent outdoor exposure.
Once the structure was signed off, we laid the artificial grass on the playing surface, with infill and line marking. The court was handed over ready to play, to the programme agreed in the quote.
